The multicamera comedy has been a solid performer after last summer's solid sampling, averaging a 1.7 rating in the key demo, which earned it a move to midseason. Just days after the show's first live airing, NBC announced that all 13 episodes of the upcoming third season would air live. The only comedy to earn a renewal at the network, Undateable is now NBC's longest-running comedy.

NBC’s stretch of all-live Undateable episodes kicked off Friday night with the comedy’s third season premiere.
The one-hour outing, which had to be a bit of an endurance challenge for its cast, averaged a 0.8 rating among adults 18-49 and 2.6 million viewers. Soft, for sure, that’s down from the recent season premiere — though there’s really no comparison to be made, as that episode got a lead-in from an original episode of The Voice.
Stacked against the night’s other comedies, with which Undateable was in direct competition, the series trailed. Last Man Standing, averaged a steady 1.3 rating in the key demo. And Dr. Ken, which managed an impressive 2.0 rating among adults 18-49 in its first live-plus-three day showing, was down only two-tenths of a point from last week’s live-plus-same debut a 1.3 rating in the demo as well.
