The broadcast season grinding to a close, respective NBC and ABC reality flagships The Voice and Dancing With the Stars signed off on Tuesday night. The former show won the night hands-down, in both the key demo and among total viewers, but both series were at finale lows.
After two boosted episodes of Great News, The Voice averaged a 1.9 rating among adults 18-49 and 9.1 million viewers. In the demo, that’s dead even with Monday’s penultimate episode but down three-tenths of a point from the May ender in 2016. (Losses from the December season are steeper, but the fall and spring cycles operate quite differently.)
Dancing With the Stars was down by the same measure, three-tenths of a point from 2016, averaging a 1.3 rating in the key demo. The show still pulled more than 8.8 million viewers. And lead-in Downward Dog held steady in its Tuesday move, averaging a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49. Even better, it added 1 million viewers to its total audience haul, hitting 5.7 million.
CBS aired the finale of Bull, posting an average 1.1 rating among adults 18-49 and 8.4 million viewers. 48 Hours: NCIS eared a 0.6 rating.
On Fox, back-to-back episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine earned a 0.7 and 0.6 rating, while the conclusion of Prison Break wrapped with a 0.7 in the key demo.
And, on The CW, The Flash rose to a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49 before a steady iZombie (0.4 adults).
