The Voice staged a strong return on Monday night. And though there will be talk of its year-over-year drop, 15 percent in the key demo, it did manage to sustain its premiere scores from its most recent fall season.
With an average 4.0 rating among adults 18-49 and 13.6 million viewers, The Voice (which featured the return of original judge Christina Aguilera) was even slightly improved among total viewers for the most recent cycle. It led into the second season of The Night Shift, moving out of its summer slot. The show was steady with its series debut, averaging a 1.5 rating in the key demo.
