LONDON – Warner Bros’ Shed Media Group production banner Watershed TV has appointed a creative director to spearhead the company’s slate of factual and factual entertainment formats.
The company has brought in former Mentorn Media high-flier Emma Morgan to the newly created role, which starts in May. She will report to Watershed TV managing director Mark Rubens.
Morgan is currently director of development and executive producer. In her three years at the company she has steered shows including The Fried Chicken Shop: Life in a Day for Channel 4 and Hotel of Mum and Dad for BBC 3 to the screen.
Before Mentorn Media, Morgan was head of development and executive producer at Twofour Broadcast, where she helped develop Educating Essex (Channel 4) and My Hoarder Mum and Me with Jasmin Harman (BBC 1), among others.
Rubens said: “Television is all about good ideas and Emma is one of the best at coming up with them. She’s been at the heart of many successful shows and I am looking forward to her bringing all her creativity, energy and flair to Watershed.”
Morgan added that the chance to join Watershed TV was “too big an opportunity to miss.”
Launched in 2011, Watershed TV has created a number of factual formats around social or current affairs, including Show Me Your Money for Channel 4.
It produced last year’s controversy-stirring Ramadan season for Channel 4, Stacey Dooley’s New Drug Frontiers series for BBC3 and is currently working on shows for BBC, CBBC, Channel 4 and Five.
Shed Media, part of Warner Bros. Television Group, is a producer of TV content and includes Ricochet, Twenty Twenty, Wall to Wall, Headstrong Pictures, Watershed, Yalli Productions and Renegade Pictures.
Shed Media’s history includes the Oscar- and BAFTA-winning film Man on Wire, multiple BAFTA-winning series The Choir, Waterloo Road and Supernanny.
