NBC is taking a page out of Fox and the CW’s playbook and streaming episodes of rookie comedies Up All Night and Whitney early online.
Wednesday’s third episode of the Christina Applegate and Will Arnett comedy Up All Night will be available to stream early on Yahoo starting Tuesday morning. The episode features Saturday Night Live’s Will Forte and Jorma Taccone as guest stars.
Meanwhile, Thursday’s second episode of Whitney, loosely based on the life of stand-up comic Whitney Cummings and co-starring Chris D’Elia, will also be available starting Tuesday.
In addition to the early look, previous episodes of both series will be streamed on Yahoo as well.
Fox streamed freshman comedy New Girl, starring Zooey Deschanel, early on platforms including iTunes, Hulu and Fox.com. The CW also offered a pair of its freshman dramas, The Secret Circle andHart of Dixie, early on iTunes.
Up All Night airs Wednesdays, while Whitney runs Thursdays on NBC.
