USA Network knows a good thing when it happens.
The NBCUniversal-owned cabler has handed out an additional six-episode pickup for reality breakout Chrisley Knows Best, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The pickup brings the family docuseries, starring Todd Chrisley and his family, to a total of 18 episodes for its third season. Like so many scripted cable series, Chrisley‘s third season will be split in half and air in two parts. The first half will air this summer, with the family heading to London on vacation for the not yet scheduled second half.
“We’re excited to follow the Chrisley family on this great adventure” said Jackie de Crinis, executive vp original programming at USA Network. “Todd is a creature of habit and prefers to be king of his own castle, so there is no telling what will happen when he travels outside of the USA for the first time ever.”
In its second season, Chrisley continued to hit series highs on its way to an average of 1.2 million adults 18-49 and 2.3 million total viewers.
The series, produced by Maverick TV and All3Media America, recently earned the NATPE Reality Breakthrough award for best docusoap. Exec producers include Adam Greener, Stephanie Bloch Chambers, Jen Perry Leamy, Jim Sayer, Eli Holzman and Stephen Lambert; Annie Kate Pons serves as supervising producer.
