A familiar face is headed to Mystic Falls.
7th Heaven star David Gallagher has joined The Vampire Diaries for the first two episodes of the season as werewolf Ray Sutton, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.
Though best known for playing preacher’s son Simon Camden on 7th Heaven, which aired on the WB and the CW, Gallagher recently tapped into the supernatural/sci-fi world with J.J. Abrams’ 1970s-set feature Super 8 as Donny.
Gallagher’s Vampire Diaries gig marks the actor’s return to the CW. He previously guest starred on The Deep End, Smallville, Numb3rs, Bones and Without a Trace.
The Vampire Diaries premieres its third season on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. on the CW.
