NBC’s celebration of the musical Wicked didn’t cast much of a spell on viewers Monday night.
The special A Very Wicked Halloween delivered a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49 and just above 4 million viewers at 10 o’clock, well below the averages for Manifest in the time period so far this fall (1.7, 8.2 million).
Not having Manifest as competition seems to have helped at least one other 10 p.m. show, as CBS’ Bull (0.9 in 18-49 and 7.03 million viewers) tied its season high in the demo and had its second-largest audience of the fall. ABC’s The Good Doctor (1.3, 8 million) is inflated some, thanks to Monday Night Football pre-emptions in Boston and Buffalo, but should end up near its season average of 1.2 and 7.1 million viewers.
The rest of the network slate was fairly steady. The Voice matched last week’s preliminary 1.8 (it adjusted up to 1.9 in the finals) and led the night in the 18-49 demo. CBS’ The Neighborhood (1.1), Happy Together (0.8) and Magnum P.I. (0.8) were all even with last week’s early ratings, as were The Resident (1.0) on Fox and Arrow (0.4) and Legends of Tomorrow (0.3) on The CW.
Fox’s 911 ticked up a tenth of a point to 1.4 and is the night’s top scripted show. Dancing With the Stars is currently at 1.2, subject to a downward adjustment in the finals thanks to MNF.
NBC led the network standings with a 1.5 among adults 18-49. Fox and ABC are currently tied for second at 1.2, pending updates for the latter. CBS averaged 0.9 and The CW 0.4.
