For those who love the two hours of The Voice that air on Monday nights, you’ll get an extra treat on Tuesday, Oct. 30, when The Voice will air for two hours as well.
Usually Tuesdays are only an hour show, but NBC will celebrate the new “knockout” round with a total of four hours of The Voice on the week of Oct. 29.
The knockout round is a new addition this season, due to the “steal” move that was added to the battle rounds.

In the battle rounds – which began airing on Monday, Oct. 8 – each team will start off with each coach having 16 members. The coaches – Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton — will each have two steals that they can use. If, for example, two members of Green’s team are battling, then any of the other coaches can choose to steal the person whom Green does not choose to keep. If more than one coach chooses to steal a contestant, it’s up to the contestant to choose his or her coach.
Then, the show will move into the knockout round. Each team will have 10 members at the beginning. The contestants will choose their own song to perform. On the day of the show, they’ll find out who they are paired up against, which is up to their coach. One of the contestants will then sit in the corner of the stage and watch as the other performs. The coaches will then cut their teams down to five members for the live shows.

The additional hour of The Voice on Tuesday, Oct. 30, will move back the broadcast times for original episodes of the new comedies Go On (10-10:30 p.m. ET) and The New Normal (10:30-11 p.m. ET) for one night.
This isn’t the first time this season that NBC has extended the amount of TV time that its singing competition gets. The season three premiere week beginning Sept. 10 featured three nights of blind auditions. By adding a Wednesday night broadcast, the NBC show went up against the premiere of Fox’s singing competition The X Factor.
