The first artist to audition tonight was Dave Fenley, who sang “Help Me Hold On” by Travis Tritt. He was hoping for turns from Clarkson and Shelton, and he ended up getting them from both. He ultimately chose Team Blake.
Steve Memmolo was up next, singing “Spooky” by Classic IV. Hudson and Levine turned for him, and Memmolo chose Team Adam.
Next up was Audri Bartholomew, singing “Never Enough” by Loren Allred. It was a theatrical performance that showcased great range, but she had some pitch issues. Hudson was the only coach to turn, so Bartholomew joined Team Jennifer by default.
Rachel Messer followed with a performance of “I Want to Be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart” by Patsy Montana. She came from a musical family and showed experience on the stage. Both Clarkson and Shelton turned for her, and she unsurprisingly chose Team Blake.
Brent Morgan sang next and failed to turn any chairs. Hoping to turn things around, Chevel Shepherd sang “If I Die Young” by The Band Perry. Her country sound got Clarkson and Shelton to hit their buttons again. But this time, Clarkson emerged victorious, and Shepherd joined Team Kelly.
The next artist, Bryan Cherry, failed to turn any chairs with his Sam Cooke song. But Delaney Silvernell caught Clarkson’s ears with her performance of “In My Blood” by Shawn Mendes. She joined Team Kelly by default.
Anthony Arya next sang “Danny’s Song” by Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina, earning an early turn from Levine. He had a warm, intriguing tone, but no other coaches turned. He joined Team Adam by default.
Natasia Greycloud followed with a performance of “I’m Not the Only One” by Sam Smith that earned turns from Clarkson and Hudson. She ultimately decided to join Team Jennifer.
Next up, Lynnea Moorer sang “Location” by Khalid, showcasing an interesting but imperfect vocal. She did not receive any turns but was chosen to participate in the webseries The Comeback Stage.
The last artist of the night, Kymberli Joye, sang “Run to You” by Whitney Houston. Hudson, Clarkson and Shelton all turned for her, but Clarkson shook things up by blocking Hudson. It was a smart move, because Joye joined Team Kelly.
The Blind Auditions continue tomorrow night on The Voice.
