Erin Martin, the model-turned-singer from Cee Lo Green’s team on The Voice, was eliminated on Tuesday’s episode after performing “Your Song” for her last-chance song.
“I’m glad I got to come in with a bang and go out with a bang,” Martin told The Hollywood Reporter after the show, adding that she felt her performance of “Hey There Delilah” during the blind auditions and this final performance were her strongest. “Because that’s who I am, and I’m proud of those performances,” she said.

However, the “bang” Martin could be talking about could easily be the heated comments she shared on the carpet when talking to reporters after she was eliminated.
Martin told THR that she felt her first and last performances were the best because “those were when I had control, when I gave control to someone else, they kinda screwed it up.”
She added that she felt Green had taken her in the wrong direction with showy numbers like Monday’s “Walk Like an Egyptian.” She also insisted that “art needed to be nurtured,” and that Green hadn’t done that for her.

Martin, who said she hopes to be the Billie Holiday of her generation, also told THR that, in retrospect, she would not have been part of NBC’s reality competition.
“Probably not because they told us that we got to choose our songs for live shows and in reality we didn’t get to choose our songs so that kinda sucks,” she said.
Martin said she plans to focus on making new music now that she’s done with the show. “I was just enjoying being on a TV show. It was fun while it lasted and now I get to go back to being in full creative control of my career,” she said.

While Green did not have an opportunity to comment on Martin’s statements after the show, he did talk to reporters about the eliminations. He said Martin is “so, so unique and so wonderfully strange, like me.”
“I’ll miss having that side of myself around,” he said.
Each of the four coaches – Green, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine – now have four members remaining on their teams after the first two weeks of live auditions.
