The show opened with Florence and the Machine performing their new single, “No Light, No Light” with Team Cee Lo.
And then it was time to find out who America saved. “Baby One More Time” rocker Tony Lucca (Team Adam) and fan favorite Jamar Rogers (Team Cee Lo) were saved by America. The remaining four contestants will have one more chance to sing in hopes of convincing their coach to save them from elimination.
Mathai sang “Cowboy Casanova” for her last-chance song. Her unique voice sparkled, but she seemed pretty nervous. Katrina Parker rocked Pink‘s “Perfect,” and her voice was filled with her burning desire to stay. Both Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera said that she was the best voice on Levine’s team. After a long, meandering speech, Levine decided to send Mathai home.
As for Green’s remaining contestants, Cheesa sang “Already Gone,” but she seemed a little nervous and had some pitch problems, even in her usually-awesome belting moments. Juliet Simms sang “Torn.” She really attacked the song, even though she looked pretty sad after she was done. Her performance abilities are always impressive. As for Green’s decision, he said America is more invested in Juliet, and so he saved her, sending Cheesa home.
