On night two of the third season of The Voice, the blind auditions continued with LeAnn Rimes’ tour manager and Mariachi singer hoping to make it onto the show.
Coaches Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton continued their search for the team members, turning their chairs around for their favorite artists.
Because of the changes made for season three, each coach will get to pick 16 members for his or her team.
Coaches Who Turn Their Chairs: All four
The coaches love this New York-based waitress-slash-singer. Louise has an interesting backstory – she and her family where held at gunpoint when she was just 9-years-old. She joins Aguilera’s team because her very first record was one of the pop diva’s.
Song: “Sweet Home Alabama”
Coaches Who Turn Their Chairs: Shelton, Green
The wrestler/country singer (whose last name is — coincidentally — pronounced “musicman”) seems to love Shelton’s praise for his “ass-spanking” performance and joins the country crooner’s team.
Song: “Your Song”
Coaches Who Turn Their Chairs: Aguilera, Levine, Green
This 24-year-old who used to sing with his jaw wired shut when it was broken at the age of 19, puts his own twist on Elton John’s famous song. He joins Aguilera’s team after she says she wants a private concert.
Coaches Who Turn Their Chairs: None
Sometimes a celebrity endorsement just isn’t enough. Fogarty is the tour manager for LeAnn Rimes, and auditioned for the show with her blessing. But the coaches just weren’t feeling his performance.
Song: “Pumped Up Kicks”
Coaches Who Turn Their Chairs: Green
Bourg had a life-threatening virus that shut down all of his organs, including his heart. He’s mostly recovered, and says music helped him get through it. He doesn’t seem to appreciate Aguilera comparing him to Justin Bieber, however. He joins Green’s team.
Julio Cesar Castillo
Song: “La Bamba”
Coaches Who Turn Their Chairs: Green, Shelton
The mariachi artist sings the entire song in Spanish, which could have been a big risk. He ends up choosing Shelton for his coach, despite Green’s sales pitch that “different” is what he does.
