There were actually two winners on Wednesday’s The Voice. Not to take away from Javier Colon’s achievement, but Adam Levine also took away the bragging rights of being the first winning coach on NBC’s inaugural season of its hit singing competition.
Levine stopped for a quick Q&A on the red carpet with the press about the finale and whether he’ll be back for Season 2.
Q: You began tearing up after Javier’s performance. What made you so emotional?
Levine: Well, he performed with Stevie Nicks. And when you perform with Stevie Nicks and you’re Javier, it’s like lightning to me. So, I was just totally blown away by it, caught off guard by how great it was.

Q: What was going through your mind when you and Blake Shelton had the top two finalists standing up there?
Levine: All of us developed close relationships with the people we worked with. And we never saw the total dynamic of these four. They’re all so in it. Last night, we were sitting there, me and Blake, talking until one in the morning about how crazy this whole thing was. It’s more than being about the competition. We’re all great friends. They’re all great guys. [Christina Aguilera’s] great. Everyone is just talented and fun to be with.
Q: So, you were all really into Season 1. Are you so into it that you’ll come back for Season 2?
Levine: Yeah, that’s the question that everyone’s asking me. I’d hate to say for sure, but I think so. If they’ll have me, I’d be delighted to be back.
