Super producers Michael Patrick King (Everybody Loves Raymond) battled it out for comedy supremacy in the late ’90s and early 2000s — but on opposite ends of the spectrum.
“We were the dull, blunt edge on this side, and he was the razor’s edge,” says Rosenthal of the family-friendly Raymond.
Adds King: “Phil’s was all about comedy and family, and ours was about no family. It was the beginning of that big range, where you could see either on television.”
The pair made their comments during a Hollywood Reporter photo shoot that gathered 24 legendary TV producers for one unforgettable class picture.
