Viewers are going to be seeing more Wendy Williams.
Producer-distributor Debmar-Mercury announced Monday that it will add two months of original episodes to the fourth season of The Wendy Williams Show. This comes after numbers from February sweeps revealed the talk show was beating its competitors, recording a 47 percent increase in local ratings. The extra episodes will extend production into June and July, something the host of the show is more than pleased about.

“I have the greatest fans in daytime TV, and I’m so excited to be giving fans more fun throughout the summer,” Williams said in a statement. “If it were up to me, we’d have a show every day, all year long!”
During a time when many shows see a loss in viewership, Williams was able to post gains thanks to the mid-season expansion of the fan favorite “Hot Topics” segment which appeals to younger viewers. The show leapt 35 percent, finishing fourth among the key demographic of women 25-54, averaging a 1.1 rating and 7 share and hopes to increase its audience with the extra slated episodes.
“Wendy is absolutely thriving,” said Debmar-Mercury co-presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus in a statement. “Expanding the number of original episodes will allow us to continue the program’s incredible momentum well into the summer.”
