WASHINGTON (AP) — Allison Janney played a White House press secretary on The West Wing. On Friday, she got a chance to do the real thing.
Janney won four Emmy Awards for playing C.J. Cregg and now stars on Mom, for which she has won two Emmys.
She took the podium normally reserved for spokesman Josh Earnest and told reporters she hoped to bring attention to the nation’s opioid epidemic.
Janney said addiction is a disease that can touch anybody. She noted the White House would be recognizing 10 people from across the country for their work to prevent prescription-drug abuse.
A reporter asked Janney whom President Bartlet from her old show would be supporting for the Democratic nomination. Responded Janney, “I think you know the answer to that.”
