L.A. Galaxy star Robbie Rogers, who just signed a contract extension, is prepping for his memoir Coming Out to Play, which publishes Nov. 25 (Penguin), and an ABC sitcom based on his life titled Men in Shorts. The single-camera comedy is being executive produced by Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Claudia Lonow and Jordon Nardino — but not by Rogers’ super-producer boyfriend Greg Berlanti. So what gives?

“Craig and Neil came to me first,” he told THR with a laugh at the Nov. 13 book-release party. “Our relationship is not like that. We keep [work] separate … but when I get an outline, I always want to hear what he has to say.”
