Radcliffe appears on Friday’s episode of The Wendy Williams Show and he reveals that he can do just that when it comes to drinking alcohol and… playing fantasy football.
Last year, Radcliffe told reporters that he had quit drinking and tells host Wendy Williams what led him to that choice.
“Basically, I quit drinking. I really, really wanted to be really good at it. I tried, boy, did I try hard,” he says. “And in the end, it was leading me to a place where I was not really happy in my life and it’s much better now that I’ve stopped.”
In a recent interview with ShortList.com, the star says that he’d “stay in my apartment for days and drink alone. I was a recluse at 20.” And that in “the last three years of drinking I blacked out nearly every time. Blacking out was my thing.”
At 22 years old, Radcliffe looks as if he’s well past that period in his life. And it seems as if he has found a healthier addiction: Fantasy football. During his time on Broadway’s How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Radcliffe became a big fan of American football and more specifically the New York Giants. That led to his participation in the national obsession, fantasy football.
“I got introduced to the fantasy football thing this year, which then took my life away,” he tells Williams. “My girlfriend didn’t see me more weeks. Well, she did, but I was just constantly on the computer.”
