World Wrestling Entertainment’s streaming service WWE Network will launch in India on Nov. 2. The company announced that the service will be available in India for $9.99 (about 650 rupees) per month, the same price charged to subscribers in the U.S. and other territories. The service will be available via desktop, laptop and mobile devices.
WWE Network subscribers in India will receive their first month of service free and have access to the U.S. version of the service.
On television, WWE content is available via Indian network Ten Sports following the renewal of a five-year deal last year. Ten Sports has had the Indian TV rights to WWE since 2002.
WWE Network will offer access to a video-on-demand library with over 3,700 hours of content, including past editions of Raw and SmackDown. In addition, all 12 of the year’s WWE pay-per-views will be available to subscribers 24 hours after they air in India on Ten Sports. Starting in 2017, the WWE pay-per-views will be broadcast live on WWE Network.
“India is a strategically important market for WWE, and we are thrilled to make WWE Network available to our fans there,” said WWE chief strategy and financial officer George Barrios. “The global expansion of WWE Network is a key driver in our commitment to growing the WWE brand internationally.”
WWE Network will also be available in other countries in the Indian subcontinent, including Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal.
