Freeform is ordering more Young & Hungry.
The cabler has renewed the multicam comedy for a fifth season, it was announced Thursday.
The new episodes will debut in 2017. The renewal comes in the wake of the show’s fourth season, which saw ratings rise from season three and wrapped on Aug. 3.
“Young & Hungry, was the number one cable comedy among adults 18-34 during its most recent run, and saw double-digit growth over the previous season in our key demographics,” said Freeform executive vp programming and development Karey Burke. “The series has been a powerhouse for us since launch, and we are thrilled to bring it back for a fifth season.”

Freeform is firmly invested in Young & Hungry and is currently developing a spinoff of the comedy centered on Aimee Carrero and Ashley Tisdale’s characters. (The backdoor pilot aired as part of the show’s fourth season.)
Tisdale exec produces the comedy with David Holden, Jessica Rhoades, Caryn Lucas, and Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum in association with CBS Television Studios. Emily Osment, Jonathan Sadowski, Kym Whitley and Rex Lee also star.
Osment first teased the fifth-season renewal on Oct. 24 on Twitter.

Young & Hungry is one of two comedies, both multicam, on Freeform following its brand transformation from ABC Family back in January. Baby Daddy is in its fifth season on the Disney-owned cabler. Freeform is getting ready to say goodbye to several long-running series, including Pretty Little Liars and Switched at Birth.
The network’s other original series includes The Fosters, Shadowhunters, the recently renewed Stitchers, as well as unscripted series Monica the Medium, The Letter, and recently launched Bachelor spinoff Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After?
