You’re the Worst is adding a new love interest for Gretchen in season four.
Eureka alum Colin Ferguson has booked a big recurring role on Stephen Falk’s critically praised FXX comedy.
Ferguson will recur as Boone, a friend of Ty’s (Stephen Schneider) whom Gretchen (series star Aya Cash) begins dating. He’s a middle-aged guy who lives in Eagle Rock and runs a nonprofit — and who represents the kind of fun-loving, down-to-earth guy Gretchen never had in Jimmy (Chris Geere).
Season four kicks off after Gretchen accepted Jimmy’s marriage proposal, only to see him leave her stranded in the Hollywood Hills after he freaks out that she would be his family. Now broken up and involved with other people, Jimmy and Gretchen struggle to move on while constantly being pulled back toward each other.
Ferguson becomes the latest new face for You’re the Worst‘s fourth season. He joins Raymond J. Barry (Justified), who will guest-star in the premiere as a new friend of Jimmy’s.
Ferguson’s credits include Haven, Cedar Cove, The Vampire Diaries and Coupling. He’s repped by UTA, Luber Roklin Entertainment and attorney Jeff Bernstein.
You’re the Worst returns Sept. 6 at 10 p.m. on FXX.
