Zachary Quinto to Star in AMC Horror Series ‘NOS4A2’

Zachary Quinto is taking his first TV series role in several years as the lead in AMC’s horror series NOS4A2.

Ashleigh Cummings (The Goldfinch, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries) will also star in the series, which is based on Joe Hill’s novel of the same title. It’s due on the cable channel in 2019. Emmy nominee Kari Skogland (The Handmaid’s Tale) will direct the first two episodes.

Quinto (Spock in the recent Star Trek films) will play Charlie Manx, an immortal who sustains himself by feeding on the souls of children. He then drops what remains in Christmasland, a twisted Christmas village of Manx’s imagination where it’s always Christmas and unhappiness is illegal.

His world will be threatened when young, working-class artist Vic McQueen (Cummings) discovers she has a dangerous gift: a supernatural ability to track Manx. She sets out to defeat Manx and rescue his victims without falling under Manx’s spell herself.

The role of Manx is Quinto’s first series-regular work since the 2015 limited series The Slap. The one-time Heroes star earned an Emmy nomination in 2013 for his work on American Horror Story.

The cast also includes Olafur Darri Olafsson, Virginia Kull, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Jahkara Smith. O’Brien created the show for television and executive produces with Hill and Tornante Television co-president Lauren Corrao.
