Zooey Deschanel is a women of many talents — she’s an actress, producer, co-founder of HelloGiggles.com and one half of indie band She & Him. Another skill she’s adding to her extensive résumé? Fashion designer.

The New Girl actress has teamed up with American designer Tommy Hilfiger for a capsule collection titled “To Tommy, From Zooey,” which will feature 16 preppy dresses — not unlike what Deschanel or her New Girl character, Jess, would wear. The flirty frocks, which retail between $98 and $199, will hit Macy’s stores beginning April 14.
“They are ’60s-inspired short dresses,” Hilfiger told Women’s Wear Daily. “There is a lot of red, white and blue, but done in a Zooey way with interesting detail and flirty fabrics. They are very Jean Shrimpton and Twiggy — really from the ’60s in London. That’s not something we would normally put in our regular sportswear line — maybe we’d be inspired by the ’60s for the runway, but it’s a new way to look at fun, American classics.”
The actress, who was dressed by the designer for last year’s Met Gala, shared how she enjoyed working with Hilfiger for her first-ever collection.
“I am a fashion fanatic, and I’m always looking for new ways to incorporate vintage, feminine pieces into my own wardrobe,” she said in a statement. “Tommy and I share many of the same inspirations — old-school music, classic films and old Hollywood icons — and his guidance during the design process helped to put a really unique twist on each piece.”
Dressing up like the quirky actress has never been easier.
