DreamWorks Animation has filled out the voice cast for its musical comedy Trolls, with Zooey Deschanel, Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski and John Cleese joining Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick.
How to Train Your Dragon star Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Quvenzhane? Wallis also have boarded the movie set for a 20th Century Fox global release in select European markets starting on Oct. 13. The domestic U.S. release will follow on Nov. 4, the studio said.
“This mix of comedic and musical star power is every filmmaker’s dream,” director Mike Mitchell said Thursday in a statement. Mitchell and co-director Walt Dohrn are the duo behind Shrek Forever After.
Trolls, produced by Gina Shay, another Shrek Forever alum, portrays overly optimistic Trolls with a constant song on their lips, and the comically pessimistic Bergens, who are only happy when they have trolls in their stomach.
Trolls features original music from Justin Timberlake and the previously announced voice cast also includes Russell Brand, James Corden, Kunal Nayyar, Ron Funches, Icona Pop’s Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, and Gwen Stefani.
